10 Stunning Waterfalls Near Crowsnest Pass Alberta
|Who doesn’t love waterfalls? The love I have for them directed me down South to find waterfalls near Crowsnest Pass Alberta. We set up camp for 4 days at the Castle River Rodeo Campground, where within an hour’s drive we could access these 10 stunning waterfalls. One day for the Crowsnest Falls and another day in Waterton Park.
Half hour from camp at Castle Creek Campground to Coleman area to find these 4 waterfalls.
#1 Allison Creek Falls
Allison Falls is a 2.6 km hike good for all skill levels however, at times the water level is at a high point which will make the hike a bit of a scramble and obstacle course. Crossing the creek is a safer way to hike to the falls.
#2 Star Creek Falls
Star Creek Falls is stunning however if you follow the All Trails map it will lead you on a steep hike overlooking the falls that are hard to view do to steep cliffs. Caution with children. FOLLOW the path in the middle about 1 km along the creek to the falls. With high water levels at times (June/July) it is a bit of a scramble crossing creek and scaling rock sides.
#3 Miner’s Path
Miner’s Path is a beautiful 1.6 km family hike. Watch your footing as many rocks and uneven surface’s arise throughout the hike.
#4 Lundbreck Falls
Lundbreck falls are absolutely stunning waterfalls near the Crowsnest Pass. Easy access to the falls makes this a very popular destination for tourists.
Waterton Waterfalls
Travel about an hour South from camp to Waterton to find these breathtaking waterfalls.
#5 Red Rock Creek Falls
Red Rock Falls can be viewed from the Blakiston Falls trail right near the beginning off to the right once you experienced Red Rock Canyon and all it has to offer. There is a trail to the falls at the bridge but was closed due to a bear in the area.
#6 Blakiston Falls
Blakiston Falls branches off from Red Rock Canyon. It is an easy 2.1 km hike winding through the scorched forest of Waterton. Caution as wildlife is abundant.
#7 Cameron Falls
Cameron Falls is located in the Waterton town site on Cameron Falls Dr.
#8 Lower Bertha Falls
Bertha Falls is a 5.3 km hike up through the burnt timber forest, adding a new unique view to the hikes in Waterton. New vegetation is abundant with a colorful array of flowers throughout the hike also allowing the views to shine.
#9 Upper Bertha Falls
Upper Bertha is a hop skip and a jump from Lower Bertha Falls. The hike is very family-friendly with the climb very manageable.
#10 Crypt Falls
Crypt Lake Fall is a 19.6 km hike for experienced hikers. Many waterfalls and tunnels along the way, which can also be accessed via Hell Roaring Falls which is a 5.3 km hike also for experienced hikers. Both hikes must be accessed by ferry or boat on Waterton lake.
